Dear Friends, What an exciting quarter it’s been! We have been hard at work bringing new programmes and special events to our members including our Malaysian CFO Collective Action and Anti-Corruption Collective Action programmes and the first ports industry focused roundtable. We also saw the return of our flagship conferences such as the SBTi Symposium which delivered invaluable insights into how Malaysian companies can accelerate national net zero aspirations by setting Science-Based Targets. It was indeed a quarter of firsts for us! We are thrilled that our local network has grown and now includes 237 companies! Two notable new members include Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), the first Government-Linked Investment Company to join our network and Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI), the first state investment and asset management body to become a member of UN Global Compact Network Malaysia and Brunei (UNGCMYB). Now settled into our new headquarters at VSQ PJ, we officially launched the UNGCMYB Academy which aims to be the premier provider of ESG (environmental, social, and governance) and corporate sustainability training for members and corporate clients in Malaysia and Brunei. Offering localised content grounded on international standards and industry best practices, we have set an ambitious goal of engaging 10,000 individuals by 2025, through our face-to-face and self-paced eLearning programmes. Thank you for your ongoing support! We look forward to continuing to work together in the second half of the year when you can expect some special programmes dedicated to SMEs and sustainable corporate supply chains, as well as major events such as the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) "Asia Pacific Climate Week" conference which will be held in Malaysia for the first time – in the city of Johor Bahru! The second half of the year is set to be even more exciting and impactful than the first! Best regards, Faroze Nadar Executive Director UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei |

Driving Progress in Selangor Towards Sustainable Business Practices |
June brought a significant milestone as Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) joined our local network as the first state investment and asset management body in Malaysia. We are pleased to be working with MBI to support its sustainability journey, as well as its subsidiary, Landasan Lumayan Sdn Bhd (LLSB), to develop a sustainability framework to pave the way for the revival of Sungai Klang. The projects signify a major step towards more sustainable business practices in the state of Selangor. At a special ceremony at Mangrove Point to announce the developments, YB Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Minister of Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change, congratulated all organisations involved in the projects and received a first-hand tour of an area of the recreational park that will be transformed into a new eco-destination in Selangor. We look forward to supporting LLSB to ensure that the initiative meets global standards and actively contributes to the preservation and protection of our natural resources, while addressing Selangor's water security.
